Blackheath Choir Festival 24 - 26 August 2012 Community Centre - Blackheath N.S.W. (Australia)
Blackheath Choir Festival is held over the last weekend of August every year. 2012 will see 24 choirs perform individual sets in six concerts over the course of the weekend. Each concert features 4 choirs singing their choice of music - pop, opera, folk from many cultures, classical, comedy, gospel, political, ancient and modern - some a'cappella and some accompanied on a beautiful Steinway grand piano.
The weekend concludes with a Combined Choirs performance. This year, the Festival Combined Choir, conducted by William Moxey, will sing Mozart's Kyrie in D minor, Vaughan-Williams' Serenade to Music and Borodin's Polovtskian Dances.
The Blackheath Choir Festival is not a competition - it's all about the music!
